Indian Stock market started its first trading day of the week with a boom. The BSE benchmark gained 28 points on Monday. Sensex had lost 67 points in its last session on Friday and had closed at 17,811.
Similarly, the National Stock Exchange's Nifty gained 7 points reached and 5,394 points. Brokers said fresh buying by funds and retail investors and stand combination of Asian markets boosted market sentiment.
Gains were seen in the auto, metals and oil & gas while Capital goods and bank sectors were trading under pressure.
The BSE Midcap Index was up 0.28 percent and the BSE Small Cap Index moved 0.39 percent higher.
Sectoral indices,the BSE Oil and gas was up with 0.90 percent. The BSE Auto Index was up 0.32 percent and the BSE Metal Index increased 0.31 percent.
